Dedicate This to Your Special Someone
memoir : a narrative composed from personal experience
Every memoir reminds us of the faraway and long ago, of loss and change, of persons and places beyond recall.

THE MEMOIR OF A COMRADE
You would not remember me now,
The memories could've faded
Has been so long since we met,
We'd departed with no regrets
And you must have someone else to vow.
You might not remember me now,
The jokes we shared
The secret laughs;
Or the then-so-important fights and rows.
When as children your pranks collided with mine,
We owned the world with our fickle minds entwined.
When as kids your hobbies swirled with mine,
The music we created, an angel's rhyme.
Recall when I started preferring novels and you ran for the movies,
And late nights still we discussed different theories,
Recall whenever we realized we got closer to cross the boundary,
Laughing we would step back, not wanting to forward the story.
Ignorance is a bliss
and sometimes so is reminiscence
Though amidst lies the twist,
That going through the past is now not on my list.
Today someone else cracked a joke you once did,
"Ghosts cannot live in living room.", he quipped
He reminded me of you,
The colors we dreamt and the sparkling beautiful hues.
We had crossed paths once and we might again,
But you would not remember me now,
Or maybe I won't recall your name.
But some things will not change,
Just like I did once, I would cherish you the same.
